Design Practice is a design studio run by Anna Kraus and Charalampos Lazos based on their common practice in graphic design, their experience in making books, designing for exhibitions, and believing that through a sensitive approach towards content, place and beings involved design makes a valuable contribution to the becoming of things.

Anna Kraus studied communication design at Bezalel Academy of Arts in Jerusalem and at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, from which she holds a diploma. She has worked in Rotterdam at Koehorst in’t Veld in the area of participatory projects with urban themes as well as in exhibition graphics and catalog design for cultural institutions. She has continued to work in this field with an emphasis on book design as part of Studio Matthias Görlich in Darmstadt before establishing her own practice and finally collaborative work with Charalampos Lazos. In addition to her work as a designer, she has taught in the architecture department at the University of Kassel and School of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt. 

Charalampos Lazos studied communication design at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt from where he received his diploma. Next to designing record covers, he began establishing his own practice working in the field of exhibition graphics and book design in the cultural sector with a focus on architecture and urbanism as part of Studio Matthias Görlich in Darmstadt, as well as in collaborations with architects katzkaiser and Bach Dolder, before establishing a studio practice with Anna Kraus. Next to his practical work, he has taught at the design department at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, at TU Darmstadt in the department of design and urban planning as well as the summer school at the German University in Cairo.
